From the minute you step through the door you will feel yourself relax in the calm and serene surroundings of the Riad.
Excursions
We will be very happy to help you organize any excursions you would like to take, either in the town or the surrounding area. Perhaps a trip to the Valley of Ourika, the Waterfalls at Ouzoud or a day out in the Atlas’ foothills… and of course our staff are always available at the Riad to help you relax and provide for all of your needs.
The Meals
The meals are all made from fresh ingredients bought at the local market and prepared by Fatima who cooks traditional Moroccan meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Fatima chooses the best and freshest ingredients available at the market in Bab Doukkala which is overflowing with herbs, spices, fruit and vegetables of an exceptional quality. She would be delighted to give you some cooking lessons as she prepares her meals
The Terraces
You can relax among the flowers in our two large terrace gardens, marvel at the fantastic views over the Medina, Koutoubia and the Atlas Mountains and soak up the sun on our comfortable loungers. There is a summer kitchen for those impromptu barbecues and you can relax on our comfortable sofas, with your drink, on a balmy evening and even smoke a chicha.
The Sitting Room
The Moroccan sitting room is very comfortable and relaxing, preserved in the traditional architectural style of a Riad, with high cedar-wood ceilings and walls plastered in Tadelakt and decorated tastefully in a natural and granite grey color scheme.
Whether you are playing chess or backgammon, enjoying a drink, having a chat or merely taking a moment to dream, this is always a cool peaceful room in summer and with a good fire going in winter it becomes warm and inviting.
In the sitting room you will find magazines, novels and beautiful coffee-table books to browse through. There are also board games to play and DVDs to watch on the large flatscreen TV. There’s also a computer at your disposal which has internet access so you can check your emails etc.
Children
There is a selection of games books and videos to amuse young guests and we also provide a babysitting service on request.
Swimming pool, Jacuzzi and Hammam
During the scorchingly hot summer days you can cool off in our pool which occupies most of the grand patio, or you can rejuvenate yourself in the bubbles of the jacuzzi…
But you can’t come to Morocco without experiencing the delights of the Hammam (steam room), so let yourself go in the gentle warmth of our traditional beldi hammam, it’s the best way to prepare yourself for the beauty treatments which are available from our professional masseuse,(by appointment only): a body scrub with savon noir and rare Moroccan, essential oils begin your treatment of the face, body and hands for complete relaxation. Our massage salon can accommodate up to two people. You can also buy any of the products you have tried, a range called « Les Sens de Marrakech » they would make great souvenirs to take back for family and friends.
